Down a spiral of tree-roots below the Lost Boys' kitchen, past the herb-bundles hanging from the beams, is a hidden little classroom. Lantern-light, oiled wooden desks, a great slate blackboard and — pinned to the wall — the timetable. Seven classes. Choose one and sit down.

The Headmaster's Portrait
