A working backlot in the last warm hour of the afternoon. Art-deco soundstages line a wide dusty street, a camera crane rolls past on its rails, painted mountain flats lean against the wall, and at the end of the road the great riveted water tower stands over the whole lot. Somewhere a bell rings and everybody goes quiet — they're rolling.
