The Service Lift — Spaceland
The station keeps one freight car running all the way down. You begin inside it and never step out — the blast gate stays shut between decks, and the hydroponics garden, the cold-storage sleepers, the cargo dock and the hive deck all slide past on the other side of the steel. Then the winch lets go — and the gate opens one last time on the concourse.
