Sea-glass green panels, salt-worn brass and a single flight lever. The screen looks out over the silver sea at dawn, and you are the boy on the great white heron. Nothing holds you up but your own flapping — let it go and the water takes you. Pirate riders come in low on vultures, and a joust is settled the old way: whoever's lance rides higher at the moment of impact stays in the air. The one who doesn't drops as an egg, so gather it off the ledges before another buccaneer hatches out of it. Five waves, ending with the buccaneer squadron, and a Heron Joust stamp for the rider who holds the sky.

Space (or up) flaps once — tap it in rhythm to climb, let it rest to sink. Left and right lean the heron into the wind. On a touch screen, tap to flap and hold to one side of the bird to steer that way.
Level lances just bounce the two of you apart, so come in from above. Eggs roll off the ledges and are worth more caught in the air than dropped in the sea, and the buff and blue riders fly harder than the first ones you meet.
