★ The lit windows at the top of the lane · Cider on the hob · A turret room that catches the moon first ★
The gabled Victorian inn on the hill above Halloween Hollow. Dark wainscoting, a great stone fireplace burning low, and an antique front desk with a brass bell and a wall of pigeonhole keys. Pumpkins and beeswax candles line the mantel, a pumpkin-vine garland winds up the staircase banister, and the leaded windows show orange trees and a harvest moon the size of a barn door. There is always cider on the hob and someone reading in the armchair nearest the fire.
Ring the brass bell and choose your cabin for the night.
