★ The lodge at the end of the high street · Cocoa on the table · A tower suite under the aurora ★
The great timber lodge at the top of the North Pole high street, run as a small bed-and-breakfast. A fieldstone fireplace burns low with four stockings on the mantel, an antique front desk carries a brass bell and a wall of pigeonhole keys, and deep red armchairs are pulled up to the hearth. A decorated tree stands in the tall leaded window, garland and warm lights wind up the staircase, and there are always mugs of cocoa going cold because nobody wants to leave the fire.
Ring the brass bell and choose your cabin for the night.
