★ Wooden trestles and riveted brass · A boiler-powered lead car · Through the chimneys and out into the sunset ★
A leviathan of timber and iron rears above the Forge Quarter, winding between smokestacks and gearwork towers. Riders climb into a brass-boilered lead car, the pressure gauge trembles into the red, and the whole train hisses out of the station on a slow lift-hill past the ironmongers' rooftops. Then the first drop — down through a chimney-top helix, past open furnace mouths spitting sparks, over the tavern chimneys and out into the sunset on the ridge. A first-person POV ride is on the anvil.
They say the Iron Serpent was hammered together over seven nights by the Forge Quarter's boilermakers, using the ribs of a wrecked airship and rails salvaged from a runaway locomotive. It sleeps coiled around the great chimney by day — and when the whistle blows at dusk, it wakes.
