The North Pole · Night Flight
The Christmas Eve Flight
Lanterns lit, sleigh away. You rise off the workshop village and hold a long, quiet heading — snow-laden pines, then the frozen sea with black leads running through the pack ice, a blue glacier wall under a full moon, and a climb into aurora curtains above the cloud tops. Then down through the cloud to a sleeping town: warm windows, a lit fir tree in the square, footprints in fresh snow, and a rooftop-height pass down the main street before you climb away.
