Members and their guests may take the basket up as far as the rope allows.
Green leather, a wall of barometers, and a hundred years of framed ascents. The club keeps one great varnished basket on the floor for people to climb into and be photographed in, and one out on the promenade with the rope still attached to it. The second one is the one that goes up.
