★ A great brass compass set into the floor · An anvil for a front desk · The forge-hearth lit every evening ★
The old Forge Quarter foundry, emptied of iron and filled with beds. A colossal brass ship's compass is set into the polished slate floor beneath a glass rotunda, and the whole room is built around it — riveted iron columns, a reception desk cut from a reclaimed anvil, and a wall of little brass pigeonholes behind it with a key in almost every one. Leather chesterfields sit close to the forge-hearth, which is lit every evening and left to glow all night. The copper pipework overhead ticks quietly as it cools, and a spiral iron staircase winds up to the rooms.
Ring the brass bell and choose your cabin for the night.
