The story
- Sammy catches half a sentence about 'something huge by the pond'.
- He announces a monster from the top of the pine.
- The forest empties in terror; burrows are jammed; nobody sleeps.
- The monster is Buster Bear, having a wash.
- Sammy has to fly round and unsay it, house by house.
- Buster, gentle and baffled, is finally introduced properly.
