The Verdant Deep
Lura — the deep jungle.
Inland the trees close overhead and the world goes green. Spore-trees rise hundreds of feet with gold sap glowing in their veins; vines run as wide as roads; the floor is a carpet of glass-ferns, vein-leaves and blue-gold fungi. Light arrives in shafts and the air is full of slow drifting pollen that catches it like floating embers. Somewhere far off, something very large is walking.
