The story
- Evening at the Smiling Pool. The little ones gather.
- Peter asks where the Laughing Brook is going in such a hurry.
- Grandfather Frog traces the water: cloud, rain, spring, brook, pool, river, sea.
- The children watch the whole journey in the sunset light.
- And back up into the clouds again, says Grandfather Frog.
- The forest goes quiet, thinking about it.
