The story

  1. A newcomer works all night. Nobody knows who or why.
  2. Dawn: the familiar brook is gone and a wide new pond glitters instead.
  3. Outrage. Sammy Jay leads a delegation.
  4. Paddy shows them what has already arrived: fish, frogs, dragonflies, a heron.
  5. The forest goes very quiet.
  6. By evening, everyone is swimming in it.
