Never quite as clever as he thinks he is.
Reddy Fox lives in a sandy den on the hill with Granny Fox, who is far cleverer than he is and never lets him forget it.
Reddy is vain about his beautiful red coat and his splendid tail, and he is sure that one day he will finally catch Peter Cottontail. He has been sure of that for years.
He is not wicked — he is proud, and pride is what trips him. Most of his stories end with Reddy sitting in the brook, wet, while somebody laughs.
