The story
- Autumn. Happy Jack buries his finest acorn and marks the spot — badly.
- Winter. He digs everywhere and cannot find it. He is furious with himself.
- Spring. Something green pushes up where he was digging.
- Grandfather Frog explains what a seedling is.
- Happy Jack sits with the tiny oak all summer, astonished.
- Autumn again, and he buries the next acorn deliberately.
